Most people including me are addicted to watching YouTube. But hey! Do you know YouTube has provided multiple keyboard shortcuts to make comfort use of YouTube? YouTube has already well known about user's problems they felt when they are enjoying the content on YouTube.
We also feel annoying to touch our mouse and move cursor over the screen for the action while watching videos. That's true. Right? Therefor YouTube has decided to provide keyboard shortcuts to the users to do the appropriate action with minimum user effort. Here I'm going to define those keyboard shortcuts provided by YouTube.
To navigate inside the video
'J': As we all do a double-tap on the mobile screen to go forward or backward with 10 seconds. As same as on the computer we should press 'J' to rewind 10 seconds.
'L': 'L' is used to fast-forwarding video for 10 seconds.
'K': This keyboard shortcut used for Play or Pause video on the computer. The space button also used to play or pause the video.
',': Comma is used to go to the next frame while the video is paused.
'.': Fullstop is used to move on the previous frame while paused.
'Home or 0': These buttons are used to move to seek bar at the beginning of the video.
'End': Introducing itself, use to go to the end of the video.
'1-9': 1 is used to go to 10% of video and 9 is used to move on 90% part of the video.
Interface Navigation
'Space': Space is used to activate the highlighted button.
'/': This symbol is used to go to the YouTube search bar.
'Shift+P': This is used to play the previous video in the playlist.
'Shift+N': Used to play the next video in the playlist.
'F': Toggle between screen, You may turn on fullscreen mode or exit fullscreen mode. Esc key also used for exit fullscreen mode.
'C': This keyboard control used to toggle between caption turn on or off.
Control Playback
'M': You can turn on or off the audio of a video. Stands for MUTE/UNMUTE.
'UP ARROW KEY': This short control can help you to raise the volume when you are on fullscreen mode.
'DOWN ARROW KEY': Shortcut control uses to decrease the volume while watching videos on fullscreen mode.
'>': Used to speed up the playback rate of the video.
'<': This key control used to slow down the playback speed.
So, These are some basic but most important YouTube shortcut controls which you can use while watching content on YouTube. We all are well known about YouTube is the best platform for watching there are no limits to videos or videos length. We always want the platform very easy to used and freely controlled.
